Welcome to our Driven Doer series! Each month, we highlight the passionate, motivated people who help advance Delta’s mission of achieving a resilient Great Lakes environment and economy.

This month, we introduce you to Helen Hardy, Delta’s Director of Finance and Operations, resident Steelers fan, nonprofit finance expert, dog lover, and traveler!

What do you do?

I do the fun stuff at Delta! I am responsible for all of the financial, administrative, and operational aspects of the organization. If you need help with anything from a human resources matter to a financial report, I am your lady.

What drives you and inspires you to get up in the morning?

Honestly, I think just the fact that I am starting a new day inspires me. Tomorrow is not promised so I get my energy from knowing that I have a fresh start daily.

How did you first get involved with Delta?

My only interaction with Delta prior to employment was the Project Tour of Gary in 2015. It was very relaxed and informative. I was inspired by Delta’s work and its staff at the event.

Unique, game-changing, evolving, strategic.

Favorite place in the Great Lakes region:

That’s difficult to pick just one… I would have to say Mackinac Island: water, golf, and the perfect place to completely relax.
