What's going on at Delta
and who's helping make it happen

Driven Doer: Melissa Mayer

Delta Institute is surrounded by passionate, motivated people who work with us to help achieve our vision of a resilient Great Lakes environment and economy. We witness the determination our board members, program leaders, and partners display every day, and we thought it would be fun to show them off and share their stories via our new Driven Doer series!

Each month, we will shine a spotlight on one Driven Doer, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the people who help advance Delta’s mission. We hope you will enjoy seeing what has inspired our Driven Doers to make a positive impact in the Great Lakes region.

Please welcome our inaugural Driven Doer, Melissa Mayer!

What do you do?
Chair, Delta Institute Board of Directors. Day Job: Analytics Director at Gensler, a global design firm.

What drives you and inspires you to get up in the morning?
A continuous learning curve on a path of improvement and innovation, in life and career. Also, a good espresso followed by a nice bike commute. :>)

How did you first get involved with Delta? Another board member introduced me to the great work of Delta back in 2009, and I dipped my toe in Delta waters first serving on the Redevelopment Institute (REDI) board, an affiliate organization to Delta.

Delta in 4 words: Sustainable cowboys on the environmental frontier (6 words, sorry!)

Favorite place in the Great Lakes region: The welcoming canopy of a certain tree nicknamed “The Grandpa Tree” in Wisconsin. (Home state! On Wisconsin!)
