What's going on at Delta
and who's helping make it happen
Welcome back to our Driven Doer series! Here, we highlight the passionate, motivated people who help advance Delta’s mission of achieving a resilient Great Lakes environment and economy.
In May, we introduced you to Delta Board Chair, Melissa Mayer. This month, we’re happy to present another Driven Doer, Michael Harrington!
What do you do?
I am an Outreach Associate at Elevate Energy, and I serve as the co-chair of the Delta Emerging Leaders (DELs), the associate board of Delta Institute.
What drives you and inspires you to get up in the morning?
Being able to make a positive change in the world. Even if it is small in magnitude, people change the world every day. I strive to do at least one thing that makes things better (and hopefully more than one) and hope that those good deeds add up to create something larger.
How did you first get involved with Delta?
I was a founding member of the DELs back in …2010, I believe it was. I filled out a very long Survey Monkey form, and here I am.

Favorite place in the Great Lakes region:
Does Toronto count? And not just because of Drake. In addition to Toronto, the Lakefront Trail and the Chicago Park District are also favorite places of mine in the Great Lakes region. I frequently take advantage of both and really appreciate the large amount of green space we have in Chicago.
