Collaborating with communities to solve complex environmental challenges connects with the need to acknowledge that racial inequity has driven many of these legacy challenges. For far too long, the communities which are most negatively impacted by environmental racism and economic disinvestment are also the ones which have struggled to be heard by elected officials and market forces.
We at Delta Institute stand in solidarity with everyone commemorating this year’s Black History Month as well as those who support the Black Lives Matter movement year round. We are committed to collaborating with communities who are fighting against environmental racism and injustice. We believe that the solutions to our most difficult equity and environmental challenges are already being identified in these communities, and we seek to be a strong partner in securing resources, technical assistance, and governmental capacity to amplify and accelerate these remedies.
