Making Meaningful Impacts with Delta Institute
When I first joined the Board of Directors at Delta Institute in 2020, we all were in the height of the pandemic. That was a uniquely challenging moment in time for many of us – not to mention the many new challenges that our society has faced over these past four years as well. Through it all though, many of you know that I have found strength and resilience in supporting social causes with strong missions. And one of those missions that has remained near and dear to my heart has been Delta Institute. And that’s why—for my birthday, I invite you to join me in celebrating and supporting their work.
Delta Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to collaborate with communities across the Midwest to solve complex environmental challenges. Over the past couple years, I was honored to host Delta Institute’s annual BOOST competition supporting emerging entrepreneurs with new and innovative ideas to address the climate crisis. I’ve also supported the organization’s strategic plan refinement to support three core program areas: Nature-Based Climate Solutions, Resilient Agriculture, and Sustainability & Support Services. I was also honored to serve for two years in Board leadership, as the Chair of the Board’s Development Committee.
As part of Delta Institute’s strategic plan, we have set goals to benefit more than five million Midwesterners by transitioning one million acres to conservation-focused practices, and by improving water quality and reducing flooding by capturing 100 million stormwater gallons. By 2025, it is our hope that we will achieve these goals through our agriculture, climate, water, and community development projects.
For all contributions made to Delta Institute on this page in celebration of my birthday this year, I am happy to match those gifts—effectively doubling the impact of all donations made. Delta Institute is a trusted nonprofit organization with a Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid and a Four-Star “Give with Confidence” Rating from Charity Navigator—recognitions received by fewer than 1% of all registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations!
