Maywood Business Expands Thanks to County Brownfield Grant

As defined by the US EPA, a brownfield is “property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant.” The Maywood-based business featured in this article is now able to expand by using a formerly vacant neighboring property, instead of looking to other communities for more space. In partnership with the Cook County Department of Environmental Control and Weaver Consultants Group, Delta worked with seven west Cook County municipalities to assess vacant commercial properties for contamination so they could be redeveloped.
