Midwest Energy News names Kevin Dick to 40 under 40 award list

Delta Institute Director Kevin Dick, LEED AP O+M, was highlighted in the 2017 Midwest Energy News’ 40 Under 40 award list. The program features emerging leaders throughout the region and their work in America’s transition to a clean energy economy.

Kevin has been an on the ground leader in energy and green buildings for over 15 years, developing and delivering large-scale residential, commercial, and industrial energy programs. Kevin founded and directed the Delta Institute Weatherization Program in 2007 with a focus on market creation and development of new contractors. He also helped to develop Delta’s green building consultancy, LEED-certifying over 15 million square-feet of real estate with some of the largest and most complicated buildings in the world, like the Merchandise Mart and Field Museum.

His passion for energy extends beyond the environmental benefits and focuses on social equity with low- and moderate-income consumers. Kevin has developed analytical approaches to reviewing and targeting incentives to those that most need them. From this insight, Kevin developed and founded Lumin, a software service for low-income consumers that uses smart grid data to help pay bills, receive assistance, and empower low- and moderate-income consumers to stay ahead of their bills and lower their consumption.

“Kevin has a unique ability to see what’s missing in the marketplace and conceive and develop products and services to fill those gaps,” said Bill Schleizer, Delta CEO. “He brings an unending curiosity about energy and behavior, and an interest in pushing new ideas to market that will have a positive impact on the Midwest environment for years to come.”

As a Director at Delta, Kevin oversees and implements energy and buildings strategy, which includes managing Delta’s green building portfolio and residential and commercial behavioral energy programs.
