Phytoremediation Overview for Brownfield Redevelopment

Overview of how communities can maximize the economic and environmental value of vacant and polluted properties, often called brownfields, by applying phytoremediation, which is the process of using plants and trees to uptake harmful contaminants in soil and water, such as petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and heavy metals. Delta has implemented multiple phytoremediation projects throughout the Great Lakes Basin.
