The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County has partnered with Delta Institute (Delta) and ECT to develop a plan to advance sustainability, climate action, and resiliency. We are developing a plan that will be comprehensive, equitable, partnership-driven, actionable, fundable, and measurable. Ultimately, we believe this plan will position the District as a regional leader in advancing sustainability.
Delta conducted a baseline greenhouse gas inventory for the Village of Skokie (IL) to assess current emissions and provide recommendations for reductions across all municipal departments and sectors.
Delta Institute provided consulting and strategic guidance to Zumwalt Acres, a regenerative agriculture-focused family farm in Sheldon, Illinois. Regenerative practices include agroforestry, biochar, natural soil amendments, and other practices; a robust regenerative agriculture apprenticeship is also a core program.
Delta provided the City of South Bend and then-Mayor Pete Buttigieg's Administration with an actionable municipal plan to reduce emissions, called Carbon Neutral 2050. Strategies were prioritized for their ability to provide the most substantial emissions cuts while maximizing benefits to residents and businesses.
Delta and Farmland LP partnered to create evaluation and assessment mechanisms to model the economic and environmental benefits of different scenarios to transition traditional commodity agricultural land to diverse, sustainable production models.
Delta Institute collaborated with Winrock International and Sand County Foundation to create an innovative and comprehensive "How To Guide" for a new concept called "Pay for Performance," a market-based incentive to pay farmers for documented improvements to water- and soil- quality as a result of conservation-focused agricultural practices.
Create a thriving Midwest for tomorrow by supporting Delta today.
