    Delta Institute is searching for new members for the Delta Emerging Leaders (DELs)! Are you, or someone you know, passionate about advancing innovative solutions to sustainability in the Midwest? If so, we'd love to hear from you! Consider applying to join the volunteer Associate Board of Delta Institute, the DELs! The DELs advance Delta Institute's mission by expanding our network of supporters, donors, and partners through a wide array of events and initiatives that engage new and diverse audiences. This includes our annual BOOST and Green Soapbox events.  Next month on Sunday, April 16th from 11:00am to 3:00pm CT, join some of our DELs at the Reuse-a-Palooza event hosted by The Plant!     Are you, or someone you know, passionate about advancing innovative solutions to sustainability in the Midwest? Consider applying to become a Delta Emerging Leader (DEL)! DELs serve as the official associate board of Delta Institute. We are looking for stellar emerging professionals to join this fun and rewarding associate board for a one-year term beginning in July 1, 2023. What you can expect as a DEL: Monthly evening meetings with other DELs, about 60-90 minutes each; Service on one of three committees with committee meetings scheduled as needed; Organize, promote, and fundraise for two annual events: BOOST in the Fall and Green Soapbox in the Spring; Leadership opportunities to chair committees, events, and liaison roles with Delta's governing board; There is no set amount for "membership dues" or "minimum contribution," though we do ask that all DELs self-determine an amount they wish to donate throughout the year (Delta Institute is a 501c3 nonprofit; contributions are tax-deductible); Opportunities to connect and […]

  • The Agroforestry Series: Right Crop, Right Market

    This webinar will dig deeper into the market dimension of agroforestry with a focus on a few of the perennial crops that have the greatest commercial potential. Savanna Institute staff will provide an overview of four promising perennial crops for Illinois and the Midwest, including hazelnuts, chestnuts, elderberry, and black currants. The agronomics, marketing, and commercialization of each crop will be discussed, including opportunities and current bottlenecks. We'll leave plenty of time for questions about these emergent crops!
